 Sketch

Due to my little to no artistic talent i decided to instead of sketching anything to just find some animations from family guy to use as references

the main ones that I focused on was the attack and fall down animations

Attack


Using this scene and multiple other ones I combined what i liked from the scenes and animations to decide how my character should attack and what the animation should look like

Fall down


In family guy there are a lot of times that quagmire gets hurt or falls down so i searched for some clips of that happening to him to get an easy idea of how he would fall and how i should make my character act like him

Jumping



Finding a jumping idea for quagmire was a bit harder to do but in the end i decided it would be funny to have him look like this when he jumps simply because how else would he have gotten in this position




Fundamentals of animation

Feel

for feel the main point I got from the reading is. " the player is essentially locked out of the decision-making process, rendered impotent while waiting for the animation to complete" (Cooper, pg35).
In order to make the animation not feel like the lock you out of the game i tried to make them short and simple


Inertia & Momentum

For inertia & momentum I mainly tried to make it so each animation looks like it moves right and that each action looks like something that my character could feasibly do while they are moving or doing something else


Response

For response I kept to the idea that the book says about heavy or strong actions needing to take a longer amount of time. Its because of this that my jump animation looks like it takes longer than my simple and fast attack animation
